ABOUTME
Hi my name is alwin mathew, I was born and raised in Pala, Kerala. Currently I'm a computer science / data science student currently based in Manchester, UK.
I have been interested in computer science from a very young age, this curiosity lead me to study computer science for my undergraduates degree at St george' college, aruvithura.
Currently I'm studying Msc Data science at university of salford on september 2022
I'm an active learner and is willing to learn new technologies as per requirement, Currently, I'm intrigued by ML and Data Science as I believe it is the future
I'm interested in typeScript for web developement and python for machine learning applications
I have done several web projects for academic purposes and as a hobby, I have used Java EE, Node.js, Python for creating backend servers and API endpoints (RESTfull and GraphQl). For the frontend, I have worked with React, Next.js, and Gatsby for creating client-side rendered, server-side rendered, and statically generated applications, HTML5, CSS3 for creating static pages, and JSON and XML for sending and receiving data
I have experience with MySql, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis, these technologies are incorporated in some of my personal projects

MYWORKS
This was my first web project and was built using procedural PHP, working on this project introduced me to different web technologies like PHP, MySQL, javascript, and CSS
This was the project I did for my BCA final semester, working on this project introduced me to Java core, Java EE, JDBC, and this project vastly helped me improve my java skills
An array sorting application which visualizes different sorting algorithms built using react and typescript
The Game of Life, devised by the British mathematician John Horton Conway It is a zero-player game, meaning that its evolution is determined by its initial state, requiring no further input. One interacts with the Game of Life by creating an initial configuration and observing how it evolves. This project combines "game of life" with React.js to create beautiful visualizations. tools used for this project are React.js and TypeScript
CERTIFICATION
Andrew ng's machine learning course was the best online course's that I have done. It delves into the math behind machine learning algorithms and has challenging assignments where we implement the concepts in GNU Octave.
Implementing a neural network to predict numbers from handwriting using mnist dataset was one of my favourite parts of this course. It really demystified neural networks for me.
the main topics covered in this course are:
I enjoyed being a part of the IBM Data Science Specialization course. It was a great experience, this course has great challenging assignments with real-world datasets.
It starts off with a high-level introduction to data collection, preparation, and data analysis. Then the course covers a wide range of topics like data visualization, SQL for data exploration, and machine learning.
It includes an introduction to libraries like sci-kit learn, matplotlib, plotty, seaborn, and pandas. Practical assignments on the IBM cloud platform are also a good addition.
this certification consists 10 courses
